Emergency
Response
Learn
the principles behind the Incident Command System and
understand the roles and functions of each ERT member.
Hazard
Recognition
Perform
an immediate assessment of the physical condition of a
building.
Triage
Learn to
assess patients in a hazard area and perform a rapid
evaluation of the degree of injury.
Rescue
Evaluate
injuries and learn various methods to lift and carry
patients in any condition.
Resource
Management
Learn
the importance of advance planning following a
widespread disaster. Determine the special skills that
individuals in your organization have. Find out what
resources are available.
Critical Incident Stress
Recognize the signs and symptoms of critical
incident stress. Perform stress debriefings at various
levels as necessary
Bomb Threat
Learn
the difference between specific and non-specific
threats. Learn how to proceed following the receipt of
a bomb threat.
Fire Hazards
Spend
the day at the fire hall and learn the different types
of fires and what classifies each one. Learn the types
of fire suppression appropriate to each type of fire.
Find out about prevention strategies and how to
extinguish a fire once it has started.
